A rare appearance in town by violinist Howes, this
performance celebrates a longtime musical friendship
and collaboration surrounding the original music of
Cols. native/guitarist Brett Allen. Also featuring new
music by Howes and arrangements by pianist, Erik
Augis. A "Columbus collaboration", featuring lyrical,
provocative, listenable modern jazz drawn from the
strains of Columbus and NYC sounds

The Famous Jazz Orchestra and Yumbambé continue their
9 year run at the Columbus Music Hall.
The Larry Cook Trio and college combo guests with jam
session continues in 2006 on the 2nd Wednesday of the
month beginning January 11 at 7:30 pm. $5, $3
students.
Teen Jazz begins it's 5th year one Wednesday a month
featuring Matt Ellis' Thomas Worthington High School
Jazz Ensemble with high school ensemble guests and
local professional musicians. The dates are: January
25, February 22, March 29 and April 19.

Thursdays through Saturdays.
Special Events for 2006
January 18, 8pm Gabriel Alegria's "4future music" tour
2006
Gabriel Alegria was born in Lima, Peru and today is
one of the most important contemporary figures of the
Jazz Music scene in Latin America. After receiving his
Master's degree in jazz music in New York City, Mr.
Alegria combined his personal approach to the trumpet
with a passionate interest in the music of the coast
of Peru and started working on a uniquely
Afro-Peruvian jazz music concept. His visit to
Columbus Music Hall is combined with a clinic for high
school jazz ensembles at 3;30 on January 18.

Ro-z Mendelson, at Monkeys Retreat, sent the following release:
For the month of December, Monkeys Retreat will be hosting a display of photographs of Via Colori 2005
street chalk art created by local artists. Although the chalk has washed away the images remain. The display will feature photographs by:

On Sat. December 17th from 6 - 10 pm Monkeys Retreat
will host a party for the exhibit. Ukelele Man will be
performing and there might be some surprise guests.
Photographs will be on display the entire month of
December.
Monkeys Retreat is located at 1202 North High St, just
south of 5th Ave. The store will be open til 10PM.
