This is an invitation to a tribute to "Fred and Howard" , longtime residents and honorary mayors of German Village, and well known as the grand-fatherly curmudgeon characters who presided over the Hausfrau Haven, an emporium of unclassifiable assorted goodies and local needs. Their influence reached in the arts, theatre, music and their contributions, enormous enthusiasm and efforts toward promoting the city's arts and their own, unique neighborhood was far reaching.Fred is the surviving partner and will be honoredat this public reception. All friends, admirers and curious are invited, at 6 pm, Tuesday September 9, at the Franklin Park Conservatory's Garden Pavillion.
