Spring Cleaning? Think Art!
Worthington Arts Council Annual Recycled Art Sale, April 21-23

Spring is usually the time to dust off the winter blues and bring in the sun. It is also the time when many people are spring cleaning and looking for ways to give their home a fresh look.

The Worthington Arts Council can help you do just that. If you are looking for a way to “clean out” old art and/or acquire some “new,” be sure to stop by the 14th annual “Recycled Art Sale,” April 21-23 in the lower level of Worthington Square, beneath Joseph A. Banks. The sale is free and open to the public It will be held on Saturday, April 22, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 23 from noon to 3 p.m.

This event, one of the council’s largest fundraisers, has showcased up to 1,500 pieces of art, ranging from posters, prints, and original paintings to sculpture, fine crafts, and furnishings by local, national and international artists. Prices vary, with the donor receiving 50 percent and the Arts Council receiving the remainder to help underwrite educational programming. Consignment for the sale will take place on Monday, April 17 from 2 to 6 p.m., and on Tuesday, April 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. Patrons may deliver pre-priced items to the sale site, the lower level of Worthington Square, 150 W. Wilson Bridge Road., south of I-270 and west of High St.

A fundraising Preview Party will be held Friday, April 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. and feature music by local favorite Jazz Elective, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Tickets are $20 each in advance or $25 at the door.

Sponsors of Recycled Art include Worthington Square and Storage Inns of America. Additional thanks go to Bonnie Lattimer Design, Frank Slezak and Langdon Shiverick.

For more information or to order tickets for the Preview Party, please call the Worthington Arts Council office at 614.431.0329 or visit www.worthingtonarts.org.
