This special benefit concert scheduled for Friday, August 18th at Lifestyle Communities (formally Promowest Pavilion) is for local singer-songwriter, recording artist DONNA MOGAVERO. Donna fell from the stage at the "Rockin' in the Streets" benefit concert on June 23rd. She broke her hip and crushed her pelvis. She was in the hospital for three weeks, enduring two separate operations. She is now home recuperating. Although she is recovering well, she will be unable to bear weight on her left side for three months. A little update on Donna for those of you who are not acquainted with her acoustic music. Donna Mogavero, singer, songwriter, recording artist and performer for over 30 years, has given of her time and talent for endless events and fundraisers. Without thinking twice, she has donated her time and talent for many worthy causes. Now, she is in need of our generosity to help her through these unfortunate times. Her most notable and recent endeavors include: • A Judge on Columbus's own "Gimme the Mic" Channel 6 (the past 2 years) • Experience Columbus Video - Performing an original tune (touting the highlights of our wonderful city of Columbus) viewed on the huge screen overlooking the Arena District • Volunteer Performer for Comfest since it's beginning • Volunteer mentor at Girlz Rhythm n' Rock Camp (foster young women with songwriting and performance abilities) • Volunteer mentor at "Oneness" (a songwriters symposium for youth to foster racial unity through music and the arts) • Chosen as a Taylor Guitar Spokeswoman • Winner of several local singer-songwriter awards (Best of Columbus Series) • Performances locally and nationally over the last two decades
